Cyberactivism

Cyberactivism is the process of using technology, generally the Internet, to participate in civil disobedience and to send a concentrated message to a large audience.

The most notable example of cyberactivism comes in the form of the Mexican rebel group, the EZLN, which uses the Internet to attack what it deems capitalist websites and offers these tools for others to use. The Electronic Disturbance Theater, a division of the EZLN, is the subgroup responsible for facilitating the tools and technology used to achieve their ends.
