Crosskart


Crosskart[[1]] is a version of kart racing that takes place on autocross, speedway, dirt, or snow tracks instead of on pure paved tracks.,

Competitions takes place in classes depending on cylinder volume, 125 cc, 250 cc, 500 cc or 650 cc. The 125 cc class is a junior class, open from 12 years of age, but one can begin training at 10. 250 cc and 500 cc, 650 cc classes are open to people above 16 years of age.

Crosskart is considered to be invented/created by Erland Andersson (Sweden) in the early -80's, the idea was to create something that is safe, cheap and easy to maintain and yet fun to ride. The Crosskart is basically a simplified version of American Sprint and Midget Carts Google Search - midget sprint cart.

Crosskarting is probably mostly raced in the Nordic countries. In south Europe a similar motorsport exists and is called Kartcross Google Search - kartcross, with more powerfull engines.
