Commonwealth Club of California

The Commonwealth Club of California is a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization based in Northern California. It is one of the oldest and largest public affairs forums in the United States.

Its 16,000 members host over 40 events each year on topics ranging across politics, culture, society and the economy.


History

The Commonwealth Club was founded in 1903.

The "Club" has hosted numerous famous speakers including Teddy Roosevelt (in 1911), Norman Mailer, Martin Luther King, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, and Erin Brockovich (in 2001),

The Club has offices in San Francisco and San Jose.
