A character/reference from the PS2 game series "Xenosaga".
chaos is a major character in the Xenosaga Series. Not much is known about chaos. He has white hair, tanned skin, and seems to have a lot of references to religion. His technique moves (special attacks) are described as chi attacks, but have names such as Heaven's Wrath and Angel Wings. He has the ability to dissipate Gnosis on touch, though this has only been shown once. He's a very mysterious character, as nothing is revealed about his past.
His name is always deliberately written in the lowercase for some unknown reason.
It is insinuated that chaos hails from "Lost Jerusalem", the name given to Earth in the Xenosaga series. Furthermore, in Episode II, he is referred to as Yeshua, which is said to have been the Hebrew name for Jesus of Nazareth. The implications of chaos having some "divine" significance are scattered all throughout Xenosaga, not the least of which is his likeness to an angel.
Another interesting point of note regarding chaos, and supporting evidence of his having some type of supernatural form, is that he appears to not age physically. This is evidenced by the fact that he has the same physical appearance during the events that take place in the main story of Xenosaga, as well as during the time of the Miltian Conflict 14 years prior.
It is speculated that chaos is in some way connected to Wilhelm, president of Vector Industries. Wilhelm is the only person who seems to truly know chaos, as well as recognize his significance in the greater scheme of things. It is also interesting to note the diametric opposition between the two characters, both physically and in terms of personality. Wilhelm has red eyes and pale skin, while chaos has green eyes and dark skin. Wilhelm is directly engaged in just about every aspect of the Xenosaga conflict, although his motives and the extent of his involvement are unknown. chaos on the other hand maintains a passive role, and seems complacent to follow the path of the games' other protagonists.
