In the fictional series, Star Trek, Cardassia Prime is the main planet in the Cardassian Empire.

The planet has a climate that is somewhat warmer than that of Earth.

In the closing days of the Dominion War, the Dominion Founders ordered a "Scorched Earth" policy against the Cardassians and their homeworld for their betrayal. Cardassia Prime was severely damaged in the Jem'Hadar assault on the world. The planet was in much worse shape than what Bajor was at the end of the Cardassian occupation.
