César Award

The César Award is the national film award of France first given out in 1975. The nominations are made by the members of the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinema.

The nationally televised award ceremony is held in the Théatre du Châtelet, in Paris each February.

The name of the award comes from the sculptor, César Baldaccini (1921-1998). The trophies are actual sculptures of the artist.
