Bootylicious

Bootylicious is a 2001 hit single by Destiny's Child from their album Survivor. It reached #1 in the US charts and #2 in the UK. The song is credited to Beyoncé Knowles, Rob Fusari , Falonte Moore and Stevie Nicks. The song includes a sample from the Stevie Nicks song "Edge of Seventeen".

The lyrics depict a confident woman taunting a man that he is not ready because her body is too "bootylicious" (meaning "shapely, voluptuous, especially with reference to the buttocks").

The word "bootylicious" is a portmanteau of "booty" (female buttocks) and "delicious". The first recorded use is by Snoop Dogg in 1992 [1], although he used it in a derogatory sense to mean 'inferior'.

While some may view this song as a confident affirmation of female sexuality, others point out that one of the co-writers is a man and view it as a form of sexual exploitation.

A combination of the R&B vocals from this song and the grunge rock music of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is one of the best-known examples of the "bastard pop" genre, where elements from seemingly incompatible songs are mixed together.

A hip-hop-styled remix (the "Rockwilder Remix") was produced by Rockwilder, Knowles, and Missy Elliott. This version was issued to urban markets, and had a hip-hop culture based music video to accompany it.
