Bert R. Bolin (born 15 March1925) is a Swedish meteorologist who served as Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change from 1988 to 1998. Professor of Meteorology at Univ. of Stockholm. Scientific Director of European Space Research Organisation (now known as European Space Agency). Many awards and honors, including the American Meteorological Society's highest atmospheric science award, the Carl-Gustaf Rossby Research Medal (1984), for his work in climate research.
