Bedtime for Bonzo is a 1951 comedy film directed by Frederick De Cordova . It revolves around the attempts of the central character, Professor Peter Boyd (played by Ronald Reagan), to teach human morals to a chimpanzee, hoping to solve the Nature versus nurture question. He hires a woman (played by Diana Lynn) to pose as its mother while he plays father to it.
Though Reagan acted in over 60 films, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this movie is all many people can remember of his acting career.
A sequel was entitled Bonzo Goes to College (1952).
