Barry Hankerson is an African-American record executive. He is the founder of Blackground Records, a label he created in the early 1990s and continues to run with his son, Jomo.

Hankerson was formerly married to soul star Gladys Knight, and was the uncle of Blackground's biggest star, Aaliyah.
