Aleksandr Kvyatkovsky

Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Kvyatkovsky (Александр Александрович Квятковский in Russian) (January, 1853 — 11.4(16).1880) was a Russian revolutionary and member of the Executive Committee of Narodnaya Volya.

Aleksandr Kvyatkovsky was a student at St.Petersburg Institute of Technology in 1874-1875. He took an active part in the Going into the people movement in Tula, Nizhny Novgorod and Voronezh in 1874-1879. Kvyatkovsky was one of the organizers of the Zemlya i volya in 1876. He also joined a terrorist group called Liberty or Death (Свобода или смерть). Kvyatkovsky participated in the Lipetsk and Voronezh Congresses of Zemlya i volya. He was also one of the organizers of Narodnaya Volya. In September-November of 1879, Kvyatkovsky was in charge of a clandestine print shop and acted as a liason between the Executive Committee and Stepan Khalturin during the planning stages of a terrorist act in the Winter Palace.

Kvyatkovsky was arrested on November 24, 1879 and sentenced to death at the Trial of the Sixteen in 1880. He was executed in the Peter and Paul Fortress.
