Adana Province


Adana Province is a province located in south-eastern Turkey. It adjacent provinces are Mersin to the west, Hatay to the southeast, Osmaniye to the east, Kahramanmaras to the northeast, and Kayseri to the north. Its capital is the city of Adana. NATO's Incirlik Air Base is located within this region.

Other important cities in this province include Ayas/Issus , and Kozan (formerly Sis).

The name of Adana is thought to come from the son of the Uranus - Greek god of heaven- Adanus.

Adana is famous with its kebab and salgam. Salgam is red coloured, and a kind of salty juice, which is made of some kind of carrot.
