In more recent years, they have pushed very hard for the one driver, one license, one record concept as found in the Driver License Compact and the newly created Driver License Agreement especially since September 11, 2001. Since the bombings, they have aggressively promoted the Driver License Agreement as a tool to fight against terrorism and have heavily lobbied the United States Congress to promote their views. Back in the 1960's, they took over as Secretariat of the Driver License Compact as well as run its executive board.
