The 52nd Lowland Regiment is the senior Territorial Infantry Regiment of the British Army. It recruits from the lowlands of Scotland with Territorial Army Centres in Ayr, Bathgate, Dumfries, Edinburgh, Galashiels, Glasgow and Motherwell.
The Regiment has trained in places such as Belgium, Cyprus, the USA, and the Slovak Republic and in 2005, members of the Regiment will be training in the Ukraine on a NATO exercise. Many members have also served with regular Regiments on exercise and operations all over the world, including Afghanistan, Canada, Kenya and, most recently, on Operation TELIC in Iraq.
