21-87 was an abstract short film, directed by Arthur Lipsett and produced by the National Film Board of Canada.
The film is a collage of snippets of discarded footage and cuts from other films.
It made a great impact on Star Wars director George Lucas, who
was inspired by it when he made his film student version of the movie THX 1138. He later
referenced the film as the number of Princess Leia's prison cell in his first Star Wars movie.
